More animated typographical deliciousness

Crisis Of Credit by Jonathan Jarvis

The Crisis of Credit Visualized is a series of animated shorts that explains the economic crisis by giving it form. It is also an argument for how designers have the unique ability to see a complex situation, then turn around and communicate it to others. By giving graphic form to the credit crisis, it becomes comprehensible. Not only do economic activities take shape, but new relationships can emerge between these shapes.

VetorZero commercial

Monday, December 8th, 2008

Mix of very simple 30s style drawn animation with realistic-ish CG, comped with and scratchy vignetted old film look.

Gol Lagartas

Watch it here. Animated by Vetor Zero

Reminds me a little of the controversial bunny ad. But only a little bit, I don’t want to start that whole conversation again.

There’s been some really nice animated typography coming out.
One of the first and best was this piece by Jarratt Moody, riffing on some dialogue from Pulp Fiction

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

If you haven’t seen this yet check it out - a beautifully animated version of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Written by Eleanor Rooselvelt and animated by Seth Brau as a 60th anniversary celebration. Music by Rumspringa.

Given complete creative freedom and a little over a month’s time, Seth used a mix of After Effects and Illustrator to seamlessly connect the 30 articles of the document into a captivating piece. In this case, no plan was the best plan. Seth comments, “There were times when I had no idea what I was going to do for the next section of the document. I would churn out something that I would hate but in that process I would come up with the idea, layout or imagery for something I ended up developing and liking.”
